Ondinas is a short film based on the myths of mermaids and sirens. This German production is Julia Thurnau's directorial debut.

As composer I worked on various aspects of the sound but mainly focused on the music to all the underwater scenes. Conceptually I wanted to create a hybrid between a female voice and whale songs. To do that I recorded two singers and used that material to create the underwater world of the movie. I used various processing techniques including convolution, phase vocoding, filtering and reverb.

Ondinas has been screened at various film festivals and venues around Europe.
