the space between life and death... in between journeys inside a dying human body. Bodily sounds are embedded with floating memory and emotion. Gasps, tissue and flesh, voices, whispers and watery melodies trickle down into the depths of the heart. An inward composition where we reflect on the definition of life and the connection between body and memory. Originally conceived as a 2-channel soundscape, in between's many incarnations include Two Degrees of Freedom (choreographed by June Watanabe and danced by Erin Mei-Ling Stuart) and in between (video), a one-channel video piece expanding on Watanabe's choreography. |
