An interactive sound installation inspired by the work of Hans Jenny. As viewers approach Cymatics Study #1, the suspended metallic surface covered in sand begins to vibrate. Spatial coordinates and distances between the participants and the floating object are captured through the use of video tracking and mapped to an array of frequencies. Spatial user-interactions result in melodic fragments, frequency beatings, as well as multiple sand patterns.
